Tragic Passing of Mr. Om Bahadur Shrestha: Community Mourns Beloved Member’s Loss


**Baltimore, MD** – May 31st, 2024 – It is with deep sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Mr. Om Bahadur Shrestha, a beloved member of the Nepali American community, who was fatally struck by a vehicle while crossing Belair Road on the morning of May 31, 2024.

Mr. Shrestha, 73, was attempting to cross Belair Road near Penn Avenue when he was hit by a 2016 Nissan Versa. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, Mr. Shrestha succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, and the incident is currently under investigation by the Baltimore County Police Department’s Crash Team.

Delegate Harry Bhandari expresses his heartfelt condolences to the Shrestha family and the entire Nepali American community during this difficult time. “Mr. Shrestha was a cherished member of our community. His loss is deeply felt by all who knew him. My office stands with his family and friends, offering our full support and assistance,” said Delegate Bhandari. Following the incident, Delegate Bhandari personally reached out to the residence of the bereaved family to offer his condolences and support.

Mr. Shrestha is survived by his wife, four sons, nine grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. Three of his sons live in Perry Hall with their families. Delegate Bhandari’s office is actively working with the family to assist with funeral arrangements and provide any necessary support. The community is encouraged to come together to honor Mr. Shrestha’s memory and support his family in their time of grief.

Funeral services will be held on June 3, 2024, at 1201 Dundalk Avenue, MD 21222.
